About the exhibition
Moti Penn’s works are rich in color, their composing elements are different and unique,
drawing remarkable attention to esthetics and technical perfection.
Objects of clear identity are combined with peculiar or unidentifiable elements within a combination of figures and partial figures - different, strange, without any connection, so it seems.
His paintings are the result of a creativity based on pure casualness. Collages and photographs are used as sketches and as preliminary works to the colored pencils’ paintings of the artist.
Moti Penn sustains that the creative involvement of the artist, his hand stamping, the composition, the objects’ choice, the esthetic preferences, the colors chosen – all these are the real message that the artist gives, despite the “occasional connections”, on which his works are based.
The message in his paintings is universal, implied, indirect and given to more than one sense.
The creator does not “help” the observer to understand, define and connect the objects he sees. The observer has to absorb the creations as they are, or take a par t of the work by interpreting the works by himself, according to his imagination, understanding and
deepness.

על התערוכה
עבודותיו של מוטי פן עשירות בצבעוניותן, האלמנטים המרכיבים אותם שונים ומגוונים, מוקדשת תשומת לב ניכרת לאסטטיקה ולשלמות טכנית.
אובייקטים בעלי זהות ברורה משתלבים באלמנטים מוזרים או בלתי מזוהים תוך שילוב עם דמויות או חלקי דמויות, מגוונות, מנוכרות, לכאורה ללא כל קשר ביניהן. הציורים שלו הם תולדה של חיפוש ערכיות תוך כדי יצירתיות המבוססת על מקריות צרופה.
קולאג'ים וצילומים אלה משמשים כסקיצות וכעבודות הכנה לציורים בעפרונות צבעוניים של הצייר.
מוטי פן גורס שהמעורבות היצירתית של האמן, טביעת היד שלו, הקומפוזיציה, בחירת האובייקטים, העדפות צבעוניות ואסתטיות, כל אלה הם המסר האמיתי שמעביר האמן למרות "הצירופים המקריים", שעליהם הוא מבסס את יצירותיו. המסר בציוריו מעבר בצורה אוניברסלית, מרומזת, לא ישירה ומתפרשת לכמה פנים.
היוצר אינו "עוזר" לצופה המתבונן בעבודותיו להבין, להגדיר או לקשור מה שהוא רואה.
על הצופה לקלוט את היצירות כפי שהן או ליטול חלק ביצירתיות ולפרש את העבודות בעצמו בהתאם לכושר הדמיון, ההבנה והעמקה שלו.
